energy right® New Home Program

Planning new home construction should not only include design, but also the homes energy efficiency. With the home's energy efficiency in mind, Caney Fork Electric Cooperative has adopted the TVA energy right new home program.

New homes that are all-electric and are in the cooperative's service area may be eligible to receive incentives under the energy right program. (An all-electric home is one that uses electricity to heat the home, dry clothes, heat water, and cook.)

  • energy right new homes must meet 93 to 86 "HERS" points
  • Energy Star new homes must meet 85 or less "HERS" points

All energy right homes will receive the following. Two inspections on the home, first before the dry wall is installed and a second when the home is complete.

Additional $100 rebate to homes that install advanced water heaters, i.e., lifetime warranty tanks with .93 energy rating or higher. Tanks larger than 60 gallon require .91 energy rating or higher. Heat pump water heaters also qualify.
